The aim is to enable one window at a time and assign it to an empty display, without swapping display assignments with other windows/clean feed. The instructions below plays it safe to avoid potential system-specific behavior. I would like to check if the bare fundamentals helps you get to a working window setup. I really believe the process I suggested will get you back to "green", but use your best judgement since it's your system/projects. I'm sure others here can suggest options, then you could try this and not worry about losing anything. If you were on a Mac there'd be a simple way to backup your OS/programs and try this process, (Carbon Copy Cloner) but I don't know of such a simple procedure on Windows. That's where all the reference points, EDL data is kept, not in the core database. I wouldn't be concerned about losing any work or critical save-points if you're creating saved. That's how I've come up with this process I suggested. I've had this happen to me in my testing of how to clear strange, unsolved issues that haven't been fixed in trouble reports over various gold versions of DR. If both the SSD and primary drive are shared by the same system at the same time DR seems to grab info from any source it finds. I do know that DR is very, very intelligent about finding it's database info regardless where it lives and while I can't offer any hard-info to back it up seems to share info across multiple data-points, even if it's on a separate drive. Piet I'm not a code-monkey so I can't offer any deep explanations of how/why the DR database can sometimes get wonky, but when things get strange on my DR install doing this procedure always clears it. If not and you're using Studio put in a trouble ticket with support. This should get you back in perfect order. Re-install whatever the latest version of DR is you've been working on and then reconnect your project files (.drp). You'll have to manually scan for and delete all the sub-folders and files DR creates as the un-installer only removes high-level items.ĭon't worry about deleting drivers for your video or audio devices. Make sure you don't inadvertently delete or move any of your files used in your projects. Then delete every instance of DR on your system - including the current database. What I'd strongly suggest is to save ALL your project files individually (.drp) and store them on a drive not attached to where DR lives. Your problems might be the result of exactly that. Sometimes the affects are minor, some more serious. Piet, what I've noticed about DR ever since moving over to it exclusively about 4 years ago, is that for whatever reason, over time the database becomes unstable and sometimes outright corrupted.
